they are so enthused. >> we have hopes and we want the giants to do well. and violence on oakland city streets as antiwar protestors wreak havoc. this is kron 4 news at 11:00. vandals struck in oakland tonight. a large group of people vandalized city hall around 7:00, shortly after an antiwar

protest. they believe an anarchists joined a crowd protesting. they broke about ten windows at city hall. >> they wore masks and strike out smash windows of businesses and move quickly. the march took 30 minutes. >> we were sitting in the restaurant having a nice dinner and they came by and picked up three tables, three chairs, a table, and threw it at the plate glass windows. >> necessity don't know why the vandals attacked the businesses. they are assessing the damage done. no arrests were made, no one injured. within days california drivers have seen gas prices rise by as much as $0.50. last week it was $4:26.

the average is $4-point much -- 4.67. they took steps to try to bring the prices down. >> i want to cry. every two weeks i spend $120 a gas. >> reporter: if looking at these numbers hurts your health and wallet, help is on the way. >> everything helps. it makes a difference. ten or twenty. >> they predict gas prices in a few weeks will drop to about four dollars. governor jerry brown directed the air resources board to immediately allow refineries to produce the so-called winter blend gasoline. this could increase the fuel supply by up to ten percent. in the world of gasoline prices shoot up quickly, and come back down slowly. energy experts say they believe

prices will remain high for a couple more days and start to drop back down by midweek. >> the gas you buy now is summer blend, better for the environment. winter blend is not typically sold until november. it is cheaper to produce but not as good for air quality. because of the record high gas prices consumers are paying the governor stepped in to make sure relief is on the way. switching to the winter blend should not have a major impact on air quality. time to check in on the giants and how they did in game two. we are live at at&t park. i understand it was a rough night for the giants' fans. >> reporter: no sugarcoating it. it was ugly. the giants were shut out. bronson aroyio worked his game

of bart riders. they had a new high yesterday, more than 319,000 people road bart. the usual number is around 2 00,000. people were here for the fleet week and the football game. we had a bluegrass festival and other festivities. the final tally for sunday is yet to be released. the blue angels streaked across the san francisco bay today. the u.s. navy squadron wrapped up fleet week festivities and performed several stunts in the air near the golden gate bridge and alcatraz. several boats were in the bay to watch the pilots push the aircraft to the limit. >> look at the blue skies out there for today. clear conditions for tonight at the bridge. notice no fog.

there is a little bit of low cloudiness out there. otherwise, some bright stars. we'll see the stars filter in as we get toward morning, look for clouds to increase after midnight. the clouds give way to sunshine between 8:00 and 11:00 and some high clouds, the high clouds coming from a weather system offshore that is getting closer tonight and producing a few high clouds towards monday at the -- monterey. the system is not moving much of anywhere but is going to begin to make a push toward the bay area starting tomorrow. so we'll see those high clouds initially and then increasing clouds for tuesday. it will be a day where we have partly sunny skies, clouds and sunshine and the chance for a few showers tuesday and wednesday. a slight chance right now.

. san francisco's board of supervisors will decide if the sheriff gets to keep his job. he pled guilty to a charge from a fight stemming from a fight with his wife. he was found guilty of official misconduct. tuesday will be the first time since 1932 the board will vote on removing an elected official for misconduct. we check in on the

over his health care law and economic policies. florida is among several swing states that hold 29 out of the 270 eelectoral votes needed to win in november. the next debate is set for october 16 in new york. joe biden and paul ryan will take the stage for the first and only debate on thursday. you can watch it all on kron- 4's bay area news channel. ugo chavez of venezuela was reelected. he received around 54% of the note. his challenger only received 44% of the vote. the victory gives chavez another six year term as he tries to transition into socialism. a spokesperson for the border patrol says the agent killed last week opened fire on fellow agents.

it happened in arizona. we'll have the video shortly. the border patrol thought his colleagues were armed smugglers and was killed when they returned fire. police and fbi confirmed that is what happened. they are not saying if the dead agent shot first. nice weather for the bay area. changes on the way as we go into next week. a weather system is getting closer and will bring the chance for light rain. no major storm or anything, but it has been a long time since we've seen anything here in the bay area. this will make for different weather. we'll some clouds and cooler temperatures. right now readings in the 50s and 60s. cooler in the bay. 57 in san francisco, 60 in brentwood, for tonight, look for mostly clear skies right now, but low clouds beginning to increase as we get closer to morning. we start out monday with low clouds in the bay, north bay,

south bay, east bay. that gives way to sunshine for the afternoon that will be mixed in with high clouds. that is ahead of a weather system coming in that will produce the chance for isolated showers tuesday afternoon and evening. more on wednesday expected as well. at noon tomorrow, the grey here is the cloudiness. the green shows the rain. with this system approaching slowly, we'll see the clouds increase late monday and into tuesday. here we are, monday afternoon. some showers to the north of the bay area. those not affecting us. eventually, the system does move into the bay area midday tuesday. we'll watch the clouds increase, the bulk of the rain is offshore as it begins to slide down the coast. we could catch a few sprinkles tuesday. it will be cooler tuesday. that is cooler than what we

have been seeing. upper 60s, low 70s for the south bay. san jose, 69 degrees. we will see some low 70s, became, though, antioch 72, 60s by the way. union city 65, 46 san francisco, north bay, just in the 60s and 61 for berkeley, with sunshine mixed in with high clouds. the clouds thicken for tuesday. not completely cloudy, we'll see breaks of sunshine, but the temperatures drop and also there is a chance for an isolated hit and miss variety shower. not widespread rain by any means. thursday a break, and another system arriving friday. that one is kind of iffy, but a chance for rain friday going into saturday. a massive crash today during nascar's race at
